We all have our own personal ways to exercise. There are those who want to try out everything and are inspired by a variety of things, while there are others who love one sport and focus on that alone. Some people enjoy exercising in a group, while others prefer not to commit themselves to schedules and like to work out when it suits them.
Approximately two thirds of Finnish people over the age of 18 do not exercise enough. In terms of overall activity, however, about 40% of the population exercises less than the recommended amount. The Kokkola Sports Park alliance started its operations at the end of March 2022. The first phase is about deciding the content and implementation of the Sports Park complex as well as determining the budget and plans. These efforts will be the basis for how we proceed to the next stage. This time, our interviewee is Pauli Koivisto, the project’s head designer from UKI Architects.
The Kokkola Sports Park Alliance launched its first planning phase roughly a month ago, in early April. On Monday 2 May, the members of the Alliance got their first chance to introduce themselves to the Kokkola City Council and give a situation report on the progress of the first phase of design.
